The 3rd IEEE ICDCM

(International Conference on DC Microgrids)

May 20-23, 2019

Kunibiki Messe

(Shimane Prefectural Convention Center)

Dear All Participants

Thank you very much for your participation in the ICDCM 2019 held in Matsue, Japan from May 20th to 23rd. On behalf of the committee and IEEE PELS, I would like to express our deepest appreciation to you.

Greatly exceeding the past two ICDCMs in 2015 and 2017, this year's ICDCM has attracted more than 270 participants from about 30 countries and 126 technical papers. Thanks to your participation and contribution, we had high quality discussions and opinion exchanges in the conference where we organized workshops and panel discussions for the first time during the ICDCM in addition to its regular sessions. Those achievements of the IDCDM 2019 surely reflect the mounting expectations and growing interest in DC technology.

Aiming to expand academic achievements to society and promote industry-academia collaboration, we also set up exhibition booths this time. That attempt has led to a creation of a new community that explores DC power applications and solutions from a global perspective. We are now convinced that exhibitions are a useful source of information and a stimulus for networking and new business development.

We hope you enjoyed the city of Matsue centering around the 400-year old Matsue Castle together with Japanese food, traditional culture and the city’s natural beauty. We would be glad if the atmosphere of the downtown area surrounding the castle has entertained you because that is something you can hardly feel in other cities such as Tokyo or Osaka in Japan. If you are visiting Japan again, please come to Matsue and discover more in the city with your family, partner or friends.

Two years ago, we started preparations for the ICDCM 2019. Through the preparations, we have learned a lot, but to make the conference better, we look forward your feedback and comments on the conference.

Once again, we are truly appreciate your cooperation.
See you again at the next ICDCM!

Best regards,
Keiichi Hirose, General Chair
Masanobu Matsui, Technical Program Chair
Kazuto Yukita, General Vice Chair
